1 June 2008 BRITISH MOUNTAIN BIKE MARATHON CHAMPIONSHIPS

Part of a team of five sports massage therapists providing massage pre and post event for the British Championships at Margam Park in Wales.

There were several events 25k, 50k and 100k events, see the MBR website for details at www.britishcycling.org.uk or www.xcracer.com.

It was a really great event that kept the massage team busy from the finish of the 25k through to the end. I hope we provided some relief to aching legs and backs and we raised some money for the Teenage Cancer Trust through donations from the riders. Thanks very much to all who contributed.

28/29 June 2008 SALTASH REGATTA

Providing a massage tent to the gig rowers and also to the general public, a busy and enjoyable day. Thanks to St. John's Ambulance team for without them I may have lost my gazebo in the wind!!

26/27 July 2008 BONTRAGER 24/12 MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE, NEWNHAM PARK, PLYMOUTH

Again part of a team of massage therapists providing support to the riders during this endurance event. I managed to keep going for 23 hours and perform 76 massages during this time. A truely amazing event, the night time riding was particularly spectacular with the lights of the riders disappearing into the woods and mingling with the moonlight. No pictures this time as I was kept pretty busy!

AUGUST 2008 - MAY 2009

PLYMOUTH ALBION AND PLYMOUTH ALBION LADIES RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUBS

I am employed as a sports massage therapist for the men’s team which involves providing sports massage to players before a game, sometimes during the game and also after the game. This work is supplemented by 2 clinics per week when post match soreness and injuries are dealt with. I am the sports therapist for the ladies team which includes the above work as well as pitch side support for any injuries that occur during the match.
